Anti-wrinkle treatment
How does it work?
Over time, our skin creases in the areas where we use our muscles most, eventually leaving us with permanent wrinkles. Botulinum Toxin Type A inactivates the muscles preventing them from forming the lines and allowing your skin to recover so over time the wrinkles lessen, fade or disappear altogether
What is it?
Botulinum Toxin Type A is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It has been in use since 1978 to treat many medical conditions e.g. eye squints, muscle spasms, Parkinson’s to name but a few. As a cosmetic treatment it is non-surgical treatment that can temporarily reduce lines.
What areas can be treated?
The most frequently treated areas are the Glabella (lines between the eye brows), the forehead and the crow’s feet although other areas of the face are often treated with Botulinum Toxin.
When will I see results from my Botulinum Toxin treatment?
Within 2 to 5 days, you may start to see an improvement in your wrinkles and lines; however the lines can continue to improve for up to a month after initial treatment. Depending on which Botulinum Toxin is used and your own individual metabolism results can last from 3-5 months. If you are looking for a long-term result you will need to have more frequent treatments in the first few years thereafter a maintenance treatment should be all that is required.
Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are commonly used as part of a holistic anti wrinkle solution. During the ageing process, your skin loses elasticity and volume. Dermal fillers replace the volume, which can also create ‘lift’ providing a smooth natural look and feel.
